Annual Fund
For twenty-four years, Cardinal Mooney’s alumni, parents, and friends have generously supported The Cardinal Challenge, the school’s Annual Fund Campaign. Nearly $2.5 million dollars have been contributed to the effort to underwrite the needs of the school. Last year, over $130,000 was raised through this effort. Despite the difficult economic conditions that we have experienced the last several years, the fund continues to be an important source of funds for Cardinal Mooney. We need your continuing support of this important effort to maintain the quality Catholic educational opportunities that are expected of Cardinal Mooney High School.
The Annual Fund Campaign generates revenue to benefit both the academic and extracurricular needs of the school. In addition, funds from the Cardinal Challenge provide academic scholarships and financial aid to our students. It has been through the growing involvement of the alumni, parents, and friends that the school has been able to sustain itself. Projects have been undertaken to improve the school physically. Most recently, an elevator has been installed in the main hall lobby, the concession stand has been remodeled, the courtyard is being upgraded and last year, we undertook a major remodeling of the gym. None of these projects could have been undertaken without the support of our alumni, parents and friends.
The needs of the school are ongoing; therefore, we ask you to consider giving a gift to the school to help us to continue to provide quality Catholic education to our students. Over the years, we feel that we have demonstrated good stewardship of the funds that have been entrusted to us and ask that you help us to meet the needs of the school by giving to this annual effort. Tuition does not meet the total cost of a Mooney education and state funds continue to be reduced as Ohio struggles with budget deficits.
