Kent graduated from South High and played at YSU. He was a special teams performer on the '88 and '89 Penguins squad. He played cornerback for Western Pennsylvania semi-pro team. Kent coached at Youngstown Rayen for four years and is currently a Mahoning county deputy sheriff. He and his wife, Joy are the parents of one son; Jeremy. Kent will coach special teams and linebackers.
