As one of three members of John and
Mary Babyak’s family to participate in Mooney’s tradition-rich
golf program, John Babyak set a standard of excellence. John was
a four-year letterman averaging in the 30’s for three of those
years and garnering All-Steel Valley honors twice. He was the
conference’s medalist in 1974. After graduation he attended the
University of Alabama where he was a four-year member of their
golf team and a letter winner on the Crimson Tide’s very competitive
golf teams of the late 70’s. He graduated from Alabama in 1978
and entered the University of Michigan Medical School from which
he graduated in 1982. John is currently in his tenth year of private
practice in otolaryngology (ear/nose/throat) and head and neck
surgery. He and his wife, the former Shannon O’Horo, live in Boardman
and are the parents of four children, twins Meghan and J.D., Danny
and Ryan.
