Rick Beck
Basketball - Class of 1971

A complete player, Rick Beck led in scoring and steals for three varsity seasons. An All-Steel Valley Conference and All-Diocesan performer his junior and senior seasons, Rick still holds the school record for Most Steals in a Season (89). Additionally, his 915 career points and his nine steals in a single game still rank among the school's best marks. He also competed and lettered three years in track, specializing in the dashes.

Rick earned an athletic scholarship to Ohio University, competing in both basketball and baseball. Drafted into the Army in 1972, Rick finished his college career at Youngstown State University, where he was the star pitcher for Dom Rosselli's baseball squad which posted a 14-2 mark. The number of sports in which he participated and his respective skill level prove Rick's athletic prowess.

Rick is married to Susan Lucente (Mooney'71) and has two sons. After teaching at Ursuline for nine years, Rick is presently a math and computer science teacher at Boardman High School, having coached basketball at both schools.
