Arguably the finest high school football
player ever produced by this area, Ted still holds virtually every
Cardinal Mooney and Steel Valley Conference rushing and scoring
record. Not only was he a three time All-Steel Valley performer
and member of the 1973 State Championship Team, he was All-State,
Ohio High School Player of the Year, Parade All- American, member
of the national Super Eleven Team, the U.S. Steel Player of the
Year, Boy’s Club Boy of the Year, and his number “20” is the only
retired jersey in Cardinal Mooney history. Ted attended Michigan
State University. His football career was ended with a knee injury.
He returned to his alma mater in 1980 and helped coach the Cardinals
to another State Championship. Ted now works for Wholert Corporation,
an auto parts manufacturer, in Lansing Michigan. He and his wife,
Wynette, are the proud parents of two children.
