Jim Bengala
Football - Class of 1967

The most prolific passer in Mooney history, Jim led the 1966 Mooney team to the City Series Championship with an 8-1 record. During that campaign, he set numerous Cardinal Mooney High School records, seven of which still stand today including: most yards passing in a season and game, most touchdown passes thrown in a season (20) and game (6), and most consecutive games with a TD pass thrown (8). Bengala earned All-City and All-State honors and received a scholarship to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. While at Miami, Jim won three letters in football, was the starting quarterback his junior and senior year, and set eleven individual passing and total offense records. After graduating from Miami, Bengala coached college football for twelve years before becoming a Certified Financial Planner for IDS. Jim is married to the former Debby Evans and has two children. They live in Greenville, North Carolina.
