Joe Croft is Cardinal Mooney’s 2nd
all-time leading ground gainer with 3085 yards, 2nd leading scorer,
2nd in rushing touchdowns and 2nd in rushing attempts averaging
5 yards per carry. Joe was a three-year starter and letterman,
selected All-Steel Valley twice and All-State as a senior. Suprisingly
strong for his size, Joe was extremely quick and gifted with exceptional
speed. Joe played on championship teams in the 1974 and 1976 seasons
and, in fact, the 1976 team was undefeated during the regular
season. Joe continued his football career at Southern Illinois
University on a full athletic scholarship. Joe is currently living
in Atlanta, Georgia and is supervisor for distribution at Panasonic.
Joe is married to the former Karen Johnson. They are the parents
of three children, Khalilah, Jamillah and Jasmine.
