One of the finest
female tennis players produced in the Youngstown area, Janine
excelled at every level from youth tennis to professional.
A four-year letter winner at Mooney
from 1976-1979, she played # 1 singles as a junior and senior.
She was first team All Tri-County and All-Steel Valley in both
1978 and 1979. In 197, she was also a sectional and district doubles'
champion, participating in the first ever Ohio girls' tennis state
championship.
Janine played tennis for the University
of Cincinnati from 1980-1984 where she was once again a four-time
letter winner and in 1982 a Metro Conference Championship finalist.
In that same year, she became the assistant tennis professional
at the Trumbull County Club. In 1983, she became the first female
head tennis pro at any club when she was hired by Tippecanoe Country
Club.
Janine earned her law degree
(magna cum laude) in 1993 from the University of Toledo College
of Law. She currently practices business litigation in Columbus.
She continues to play competitive tennis.
