The measure of Jerry Diorio’s worth
to the Cardinal Mooney football program can be summed up by noting
the Cardinal’s 44-4 record during the years Jerry opened holes
in opponents’ lines. Jerry was a 2 year starter on both the offensive
and defensive lines, earning All-SVC, All NEO, and All-State honorable
mention. He was selected to play in Ohio’s prestigious North/South
All Star Game. In addition, Diorio showed his athleticism by lettering
in basketball and track. Jerry played in 48 consecutive games
at the University of Michigan including 2 Rose Bowls, the Bluebonnet
Bowl, and Sugar Bowl. He earned All Big Ten honors both on the
field and in the classroom. Jerry played in the East/West Shrine
All Star Game. Jerry played professional football in both NFL
and the Italian Football League. Jerry and his wife Kathy, have
3 children, Natalie, Angela, and Anthony. He is an Account Executive
with RPS and lives in Wyoming, Michigan.
