Rarely does an athletic dominate a
sport like Michael Haggerty ruled the tennis courts in the early
1980’s. Michael was All-SVC four consecutive years. Yes, every
year of his high school career, he was selected to the league’s
All-Star team. Even more amazingly, Michael was either the winner
or runner-up in all four sectional tournament. Two of those years,
he qualified for the state tennis tournament. Michael’s talents
went beyond tennis, however. He played on the golf team for two
years and was elected president of his senior class. A superb
student, Michael graduated from NEOUCOM. He had a practice in
Obstetrics and Gynecology in Youngstown until taking a fellowship
in Minimally Invasive Surgery at Magee Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Michael resides in Boardman with his wife, the former Christine
Seman and their two children-Patrick (8) and Kacey (5 1/2).
