Sports-minded people, when describing offensive and defensive tackles,
usually hear words like: strong, intelligent, unselfish, and committed.
Meet Jim Halloran.
Jim was a two-year starter at right tackle, earning All-City and
All-Diocesan accolades in 1962 and 1963. Lettering for three years
in an era where that was rare, he parlayed his co-captaincy into
an honorable mention All-State selection campaign in his senior
season. He was the cornerstone of those outstanding offensive and
defensive lines of the early 60's.
Jim's stellar performances earned him a football scholarship to
Ohio University where he started at right guard as a sophomore.
He was injured in the pre-season of his junior year ending his football
career. He completed his college studies at YSU graduating with
a B.S. in Business Administration.
Starting his career with Ohio Edison in 1968, Jim is currently
operations manager in Trumbull County. He is married to classmate,
the former Carole Haus; their three children are all graduates of
CMHS.
