In his description of Henry Hanna when
he was selected to the All-City team in 1962, The Vindicator sports
writer said, "When it comes to all-around excellence at offensive
and defensive tackle, Hanna had no peers. He's the object of countless
college inquiries because he's a polished performer, a master at
solving the "trap".
Henry was a two-year starter for Denny
Barrett's Cardinals, one of our tri-captains, and an All-City selection
in 1962. He earned a scholarship to the University of Michigan where
he was a starter at offensive guard in 1965 and 1966. An Honorable
Mention All-American in 1966, Henry made the "All-Big-Ten"
team and the Chicago American "All-Star" second team.
For the past 27 years, Henry has
been a math and science teacher in Carrollton public schools in
Carrolton, Michigan. He and his wife Jan have two daughters.
