John was a stalwart, two way end for
Cardinal Mooney’s 1961 and 1962 City Series Champions. He was All-City
in both 1961 and 1962, All -State in 1962, and played in the Ohio
North-South All-Star Game. John then played for the national championship
teams of 1964 and 1966 at the University of Notre Dame, also playing
in that memorable 10-10 tie with Michigan State. He was a starting
inside linebacker making several All-American teams as a senior
and played in the North-South College All-Star Game. John is now
a physician in Atlanta, Georgia specializing in Internal Medicine
and Gastroenterology. John and his wife Alice have four children.
