Mark Kachmer
Football - Class of 1982

Mark Kachmer, although not the biggest fullback in Mooney history, was certainly one of the toughest to bring down. Rushing for over 1000 yards as a senior, Mark was deceptively fast and possessed remarkable balance but his absolute fearlessness is the trait that most Cardinal Mooney football fans remember best. Mark willed and bullied his way to All-SVC honors in both his junior and senior years. As a senior he also garnered All-NEO and second team All-Ohio honors. He was a integral part of a defensive unit that posted impressive wins in back to back games over Brother Rice and Penn Hills, Michigan and Pennsylvania powerhouses. His play at linebacker was critical to the Cardinal’s state championship run in 1980 and 1981 with his determination and resolve nearly leading the Cards to back-to back championships. Mark continued to play football at Brown University for three more years. Mark and his wife Diana have three children- Zack (7), Kylie (5), and Katie (3) and live in Denver, Colorado.
