Donna E. Kaufman
Significant Contributions - 1967-1988

There are very few women's sports or activities at Cardinal Mooney that Donna Kaufman, at one time or another, has not coached, initiated, developed, or advised in her 29 years of service to the school.

She was Mooney's first girl's basketball coach (1984), girls' tennis coach (1976),and girls' softball coach (1984). She also coached track for three years. Many of her athletes have captured league and state honors. Her tennis team captured the Steel Valley Conference title in 1978 and 1979 and also the Tri-County Championship in 1978. Her basketball team finished first in the Steel Valley Conference both in 1980 and 1981. Her influence has also been felt in our cheerleading program where she was an advisor for six years.

At Mooney, Donna taught sociology and psychology for two years, and physical education for twelve years. From 1971 to 1988, she was Dean of Girls. Since 1988, she has been the school's guidance director. The women who enjoy sports at Cardinal Mooney do not have to look far to the find the one person most responsible for their opportunities to compete. They just have to make a visit to the Guidance Office and see Donna Kaufman.
