Although Joe Minotti's numbers no longer
appear at the top in the Mooney record book, Joe's value was measured
in many ways, but ultimately in wins. Joe Minotti was the field
general of Mooney's initial City Series Championship teams and
his worth is quite evident when pundits and coaches selected all-star
players. He was picked All-City in 1961, 1962, 1963, honorable
mention All-State in 1963, honorable mention High School All-American
in 1963, and Scholar Athlete of 1963. Joe is one of the few Mooney
athletes that was a three-year starter in football. Joe went to
Miami University in Oxford where he was a two-year letter winner
and All-Academic M.A.C. in 1967. He married the former Sharon
Repetty and has three children. Joe is a periodontist and lives
in Canfield.
