Dennis Misko was arguably the first great basketball player produced
by Cardinal Mooney High School. A three-year letterman, Dennis earned
All-Diocese honors in 1962 and 1963, adding All-City laurels in
1963. His leadership was confirmed when he was selected team captain
in both 1962 and 1963.
Dennis' hardwood prowess secured him a basketball scholarship to
Canisius College in New York. There he won three varsity letters
averaging 11 points and 13 rebounds over his career and earned the
"Mr. Clutch" award in both his sophomore and senior seasons.
A very versatile athlete, Dennis also earned two letters in golf
and was drafted by the Buffalo Bills professional football team
in 1967. And yes, he was also drafted to play professional basketball
in the European League.
Retired from his first career as a Regional Manager at Sears, Roebuck
and Co. after 33 years, Dennis is currently a retail executive with
Lowe's Home Improvement Stores.
Dennis and his wife Kathleen have four children and reside in Grand
Island, New York.
