Joe Mogulich was the spark that ignited
the Mooney attack for three years. Every defense's first imperative
during those years was to stop Mogulich's bruising rushes. Equally
adept running inside or sweeping end, Joe was the ideal fullback.
He averaged 6.9 yards per carry for his Mooney career and unanimously
selected All-City in 1961 and 1962, All Diocese in 1961 and 1962,
All-N.E.O. in 1961 and 1962, All-State in 1961 and 1962, and played
in the Ohio North-South All-star game in 1963. Joe attended Miami
University (Flordia) on an athletic scholarship. Joe graduated
from Y.S.U. and earned his Masters from Kent State University.
He has taught Health and Physical Education at Struthers High
School for the last 25 years. Joe also coached many sports including
football for ten years at Struthers where he is Assistant Athletic
Director and Ticket Manager. Joe married the former Carol Ann
Quattro and has four children.
