Size, power, and speed---Bob Mogulich
brought the whole package to the gridiron. He was Mooney's "bread
and butter" running back for the 1966 and 1967 seasons. Bob
tallied 860 yards as a sophomore and an additional 839 yards as
a junior. He set the school scoring mark of 100 points with 15
touchdowns during his junior season. Opposing coaches had no doubt
that he would be the ball carrier in goal line situations. Their
problem was finding a way to deny him the end zone. They seldom
did!
Bob was a unanimous All-City pick his
sophomore and junior years. His bid for three consecutive All-City/All
NEO seasons was denied when the Cardinals left the City Series.
Injured in the second game of his senior year, the colossal 7-6
battle between Struthers and Mooney, he still managed to gain
Honorable Mention All- Ohio honors and selection as one of the
"100 Best Backs" in the nation.
Bob's Mooney career earned him a football
scholarship to the University of Michigan, but his injuries were
too much to overcome.
He now lives in Laguna Niguel, California
and is Vice-President of Operations for N.I. Industries. He has
been married for seven years to the former Elaine Catalano.
