How many players, on any level, have
been honored by their coaches and teammates as both the Most Valuable
Offensive and Defensive Lineman during the same year? Well, Ed
Moore was. In 1966, he was also honored as Co-Captain, All-City,
All-N.E.O., and All-Diocese. Ed was physically strong and tough,
mentally focused and intelligent, and combined a tireless work
ethic with more than ample talent. If Jim Bengala led the 1966
Mooney team to their championship, then Ed Moore carried the load.
His football successes didn't end there. Ed opted to continue
his athletic and academic growth at the University of Michigan.
He was a three year starter, earning a number of Player of the
Game honors and was awarded Michigan's prestigious Victors Club
Trophy for his performance during his junior and senior years.
Ed graduated from Michigan and now works for Commerical Intertech
in Fort Wayne, Indiana as Manager of Sales and Marketing for the
Hydraulic Valve Division. He is married to the former Barbara
Ellen Smith and has two children.
