Chris Reider
Tennis - Class of 1985

Chris Reider was a linebacker who excelled at tennis.  Just think about that for a moment.  Rough, tough linebacker (also played upback in the Mooney backfield) picks up a tennis racquet and destroys his opponents on the tennis court.  That may be hard to believe unless you know Chris Reider.

Chris was a four-year starter in singles, winning 78% of all matches including tournament play.  All four years he was seeded in the sectional tournament.  He qualifed twice for districts.  Chris earned All-SVC honors three times and led the Cardinals to two SVC championships.  Just a note:  he was a two-year starter in football, which included a stellar senior year.  He played on two SVC championship squads and one State championship team.

At Case Western Reserve University, Chris was a three-year starter on the football team.  He helped coach Cardinal Mooney to an undefeated '89 tennis season.

Chris earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Case and an MS from Carnegie Mellon University.  He is the Engineering and Manufacturing Manager at Delphi Packard Electric in Warren.  He lives in Canfield with his wife, the former Trish Roncone, and has three daughters.  His service to Cardinal Mooney continues as he serves as the Vice-President of the CMHS Alumni Board.
