It is a rare athlete indeed who earns
four varsity letters in one sport. Paul Reider did that and much
more including All-SVC all four years. In addition, he had the
second best record in Mooney boys’ tennis history. Rounding
out his awards are two Steel Valley Championships, two District
Doubles Championships, and two-time state qualifier and a four-year
88.1 winning percentage.
Paul Reider dominated Mooney tennis at its zenith with a career
record of 82-11. He was as an especially accomplished doubles’
player while still maintaining that single’s edge. He also
earned two varsity football letters playing on Steel Valley Championship
teams in 1984 and 1985 and on our 1985 State runner-up team.
A graduate of Bowling Green State University, Paul earned his
MBA there also. He is currently employed with Amgen as the Regional
Sales Director – Hospital Division. Paul is married to the
former Jennifer Munn and has two children. He is still an avid
tennis player competing in a traveling league in the Chicago area.
