Bill Ritter
Basketball - Class of 1976

Bill Ritter was a student of the game of basketball and was akin to having a coach on the floor.  Bill, a two-year letterman, led his team his senior season in scoring, rebounding, and free throw percentage.  Bill’s play was instrumental in the Cardinal’s upset of then #4 state ranked South in district tournament action.  Ritter’s production garnered him All-SVC, All Diocesan, and All-N.E.O. Inland All Star recognition.  He was selected to play in the post-season Mahoning vs. Trumbull County All-Star Game.

Bill graduated from YSU in 1980.  He continued his basketball involvement by becoming a coach.  He has enjoyed coaching stints with the Cardinal Mooney freshmen, Saint Dominic’s, and Center Middle School.  He’s also officiated for eleven years.

Bill works for East Ohio Gas in the industrial management division.  He’s very active in the community serving as Vice-President of the Board of the Second Harvest Food Bank and is an Executive Board Member of CASTLO.  He is married to the former Chrys DeLuco and has three daughters.
