Phil Scandy
Tennis - Class of 1977

Phil Scandy was the first Mooney tennis “super-star”. He won all conference honors for each of the four years that he played for the Cards. He was named to a second place All-SVC berth as a freshman and to first unit each of his remaining years at Mooney. In 80 matches over four years, he posted 68 wins and was undefeated during his senior campaign. His skill and leadership turned a moribund program into a dynamic and respected athletic powerhouse. After graduation, Phil played tennis from 1978 to 1981 for Bowling Green State University. In 1981 he turned professional and currently instructs at Hanover College. He is also a 7th grade Mathematics teacher in Cincinnati and part-time dealer at the Grand Victoria Casino. Phil has a 16 year old daughter, Leah.
