Welcome to a place where you can
find information, facts about student life, and a local update of
many events at Cardinal Mooney. Welcome to an inside look at the
Cardinal Mooney Beakon.
Run by a staff of twenty-five very talented writers,
you can find this extraordinary paper here at Mooney, published
7 times a year. The Beakon is moderated by Miss Tina DelSignore.
Some of the staff members take part every year in
the Northeast Ohio Scholastic Press Association Day at Kent State
University, and the entire staff attends Tri-County Journalism Association
Press Day at Youngstown State University. The Beakon staff has won
various awards at Press Day at YSU and there still will be many
more to come their way. In order to raise money to buy paper, film,
and to develop film, each issue of the Beakon is sold at 25 cents,
and there is also a charge for personalized Christmas and Valentine's
Day greetings.
The staff says that "the paper is the reflection
of The Mooney Family." Overall, the Beakon is a superior high
school newspaper and the school highly commends all the staff writers
and editors!
