Cardinal Mooney is a private Catholic high school accredited by the Ohio State Department of Education and the Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association. Cardinal Mooney is a four year coeducational high school with grades 9 thru 12. Cardinal Mooney has maintained a tradition of academic, extra-curricular and spiritual excellence since its inception in 1956.

The teaching faculty numbers 48 for a ratio of 13:1. The average years of teaching for the staff members is 17 years. Fifty-three percent of the staff has a masters degree.
