The Cardinal Mooney High School Theatre Department will present a holiday musical, JOY! A Christmas Rock Musical, on December 16-18, 2011. All shows begin at 7:00, and admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students and children.
JOY! was written by Ruth Perry with lyrics by David Rogers and music by Diane Leslie. It is produced by special arrangement with Dramatic Publishing. The musical begins almost casually with a bare stage that is filling with high school students. They've come to a first rehearsal of a nativity play, but there are no scripts and no director. For the fun of it, they decide to improvise their own staging of the nativity and to do it in terms of their own music and their own language.
Students in the cast are Joe Alcorn, Cristina Altomare, Brea Berry, Nicholas Bruno, Justin Burk, Kayleigh Burk, Cara Carano, Tiffany Childs, Sophia Ciancone, Alexander Cook, Alyssa Culp, Johnny D'Andrea, Briana Dannessa, Kaija DiPillo, Abby Dwinnells, Sara Eckenrode, Natalie Hanna, Jazmine Hill, Joe Jackson, Matt Jamison, Emily Kiraly, Natalie Kunce, Kiersten Lanzo, Theresa Leonard, Matthew McCauley, Alexis Ohlin, Ryan Ohlin, Tawinna Robinson, Jake Ruffo, Murphy Sharp, Christine Simko, Francesca Strollo, Sofia Thomas, Kelly Unger, Nicole Young and Simone Zeoli.
The director of the show is Mrs. Joanne Carney Smith, and the Assistant Director is Mrs. Peggy Moore.
