MOONEY HOSTS HUMAN TRAFFICING SEMINAR

On Tuesday, January 13, Cardinal Mooney High School hosted a conference on Human Trafficking.  Speakers at the conference included Theresa Flores, an Ohio native who shared her experience as being trafficked as a 15 year old high school student, even while living in an upper-middle class suburb of Detroit.  Naomi Hokkey, Esq., Supervising Attorney for the Diocese of Youngstown Catholic Charities Legal Immigration Services addressed the issue of Human trafficking from the perspective of immigration and labor.  The third member of the panel was Sister Toby Lardie, H.M. from the Trafficking & Immigration Collaborative in Cleveland.
Students from Mooney, St. Thomas Aquinas and Liberty High Schools attended the conference.
