Mr. Schlais has been teaching English at Cardinal Mooney High School for three years. Prior to his joining the Mooney staff in August of 2000, he taught English for thirty years in the East Liverpool City School District.

Mr. Schlais has an AB degree from Youngstown State University and a Masters from Westminster College.

He is married and has two children.

Mr. Schlais is a permanent deacon of the Youngstown Diocese. His primary ministry is with the parishioners of St. Stanislaus Parish.

For hobbies, Mr. Schlais enjoys kayaking, slow-pitch softball, and tennis.
