Students and staff gathered in the school auditorium on Wednesday morning for the Ash Wednesday Mass, marking the beginning of the Lenten season.
The Mass was led by Father Rovnak, who spoke about the importance of reflection, growth, and making positive changes during Lent. He encouraged students to participate in Lent by giving something up, helping others, or praying. His message focused on kindness, forgiveness, and taking time to appreciate what truly matters.
One of the most meaningful parts of the Mass was the distribution of ashes. Students and teachers went up row by row to receive ashes on their foreheads. ” Waiting to receive ashes, I always part for my family and to have a good Lenten season” said senior Abby Markey.
‘The Ash Wednesday mass is a good time to reflect on the sacrifices that Jesus made for us,” said Junor Reagan Savaet.
Ash Wednesday Mass is an important tradition at the school and gives students a chance to pause from their normal routines. It allows the school community to come together in faith and reflection at the start of Lent.
