Since the turn of the century Mrs. Kandray has been a part of the Cardinal Mooney Family. One of her most well known contributions is the yearly Crimson Feather entries. This is the 7th straight year of entries, and this year is projected to be nothing short of perfection. The theme this year is “Perseverance, The Path Forward”.
When asked about why the Crimson Feather is so special, Mrs. Kandray responded saying, “It is a wonderful platform for everyone’s voices to be heard.”
She was excited to highlight some of the entries this year!
Which includes:
- Judy Neely’s park and courthouse photos
- Chayce Giddins’ writing
- Amira Brown’s writing
- Leah Hudak’s park photos
- Olivia Hetson’s Courthouse photos
- Hannah English’s art piece
- Abby Markey’s art piece
- Hannah LaPlante’s art piece
- Felicia Smith’s water color art
- Anthony Sovick’s water color art
“A lot of people don’t realize what crimson feather is as a whole.” said Kandray. She feels it needs to be promoted. Fundraisers like the chocolate bar sales in the main office, can help promote and support this event. Also, At the end of each year a small book of all the students’ entries is put together to showcase all the talented art from the students here at Cardinal Mooney High.
