YOUNGSTOWN – Over the past three years, Hannah English, class of 2026 has participated in the Canfield Fair Fine Art & Photography competition. Each year, she has submitted original works that reflect her creativity, dedication, and growth as an artist. The competition, known for showcasing some of the most talented young artists in the region, has become an annual summer highlight for Hannah and a platform where her passion for the visual arts continues to flourish.
This year, Hannah took her artistic expression to new heights by submitting four carefully crafted pieces, each inspired by her experiences and learning in her Studio Art class at Cardinal Mooney under the guidance of Mr. Sean Butler. She entered work in three categories: drawing, collage/mixed media, and painting—demonstrating both her versatility and depth as a young artist.
Her efforts were met with outstanding recognition. Hannah earned two first-place awards, with one of those pieces going on to receive the highly coveted Best in Show honor—an impressive achievement that highlights her exceptional skill and artistic vision. In addition, she also secured a third-place award and an honorable mention.
Beyond her artistic accomplishments, Hannah is also a standout student at Cardinal Mooney. As a Merit Scholar and Student Ambassador, she exemplifies excellence in both academics and leadership. Her dedication, creativity, and positive spirit continue to make a meaningful impact on her school community.
