The Cardinal Mooney girls’ basketball team celebrated senior night with a hard-fought 40–36 win over Jefferson Area, honoring seniors La’Ziah Moore and Brandi Williams while gaining momentum heading into the playoffs.
Players agreed the best part of the night was “definitely taking the win,” as the close victory gave the team confidence at an important point in the season. Faith Spivey said the win was a big confidence booster and something the team really needed as the regular season comes to an end.
Senior La’Ziah Moore reflected on how much the program has meant to her, saying she is thankful for the years Cardinal Mooney basketball has given her and the experiences she gained throughout her high school career. Brandi Williams also looked back positively on her senior season, calling it a fun and great experience and expressing gratitude for the friendships she made through the team.
With an emotional senior night and a key win secured, the Cardinals now turn their focus to the playoffs, carrying confidence and momentum forward.
