Cardinal Mooney’s men’s tennis team is starting off hot this season with a 8-1 record. They are led by a good group of seniors this year and are hoping to go far this year. They have built momentum and confidence early, winning all but one match. The singles and doubles teams have been able to compete and outmatch even the best teams in the area. With most of the team being seniors, Good coaching and experience have been the key for this team’s success. Sophomore Max Marino leads the team playing first singles, he explained “Playing first singles, I know I’m setting the tone for the whole team,” “We’ve worked hard to get to 8–1, but we’re not satisfied. With Ursuline, St. John’s, and Canfield coming up, it’s really about staying focused, playing our game, and proving we can compete with anyone.” As the season continues the team is looking to continue with their success and build good resumes for playoff seeding.
