The teachers at Cardinal Mooney play a very important role in students’ lives. They do more than teach lessons from textbooks. They help students learn, grow, build confidence in themselves and deepen our faith. Many students here have said that they changed the way they think or helped them through a difficult time.
Some teachers help students understand subjects that feel hard at first. Other staff members like Miss Hughes, take time to listen when students are stressed or struggling. Small actions can have a big impact. “Miss Cunnigham helped me when I was failing,” Nakiea Boykin says. “She never gave up on me.”
The teachers at Mooney also help students learn life skills like responsibility, respect, and teamwork. These lessons are not always written in books, but they are important for the future.
Even after we graduate, many still remember the teachers who helped them along the way. A student that is graduating, Jason Azar said that “I will come to the football games next year and make sure to say hi to my old teachers.” The support and encouragement often stay with us for years. Cardinal Mooney teachers and staff may not always see the full impact they make, but it is real and lasting, and will always be a huge role of our Mooney Family.
