At Cardinal Mooney, school spirit goes far beyond cheering at games or wearing school colors. It is built through traditions, shared values, and everyday moments that bring students together and create a strong sense of community. ¨I feel school spirit the most after we win a football game and we all celebrate at the bell. It is my favorite thing and my best memories¨, senior Molly Simons said.

One of the biggest sources of school spirit is Mooney’s long-standing tradition. Events like Spirit Week, pep rallies, and school wide celebrations give students opportunities to come together and show pride in their school. These moments create memories that stay with students long after the events end. ¨My favorite school tradition is hearing the graduates talk about sanctity, scholarship, and discipline at the baccalaureate mass¨, teacher Miss Policy said.

Another major contributor to school spirit is student involvement. Athletics, clubs, and extracurricular activities allow students to represent their school while building teamwork and leadership. Whether it is competing on the field, performing on stage, or participating in service projects, involvement strengthens students´connection to Mooney. ¨Faith connects students in events like mass where we all come together to worship God.¨ said senior Tony Jackson.

Even small actions help keep school spirit alive. Wearing school colors, supporting classmates at events, and showing pride in being a Cardinal all contribute to the positive atmosphere felt throughout the school. ¨Cardinal Mooney is special because it is a great place to develop your skills and be the best version of yourself¨, senior Brian Lyons said.

Through traditions, involvement, and shared values, school spirit at Cardinal Mooney continues to grow, connecting students across grade levels and creating a community that many proud to be part of.
