NILES — Jennifer Policy, a science teacher at Cardinal Mooney High School, was recognized Tuesday night at the inaugural Mahoning Valley Educators of the Year Honors Dinner. The event, held at the Eastwood Event Centre, honored 33 educators for their dedication to students and academic excellence.

With nearly 300 guests in attendance, including representatives from school districts across Trumbull, Mahoning, and Columbiana counties, the evening highlighted the profound impact that educators like Policy have on their students and communities. The event also welcomed notable figures such as Youngstown State University President Bill Johnson, who served as a guest speaker, alongside members of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and the Youngstown State University Foundation.

Policy’s influence at Cardinal Mooney extends far beyond the science lab. She plays an integral role in shaping various educational initiatives at the school, ensuring that students are engaged in dynamic, hands-on learning experiences. Additionally, she leads the boys and girls tennis teams as head coach, instilling in her student-athletes the same passion and discipline that define her classroom approach.

Each honoree, including Policy, received a distinguished red marble apple on a pedestal—an emblem of excellence and dedication in education. This well-earned recognition not only celebrates Policy’s commitment to her students but also underscores Cardinal Mooney High School’s tradition of fostering exceptional educators.

Cardinal Mooney is proud to have Jennifer Policy as a driving force in its mission to inspire, educate, and lead. Her unwavering dedication to both academics and athletics continues to shape the future of Mooney students, making her an invaluable part of the school community.
